Title of the contribution: Adaptive Finite Element Analysis in Computational Elastoplasticity with Guaranteed Convergence

Abstract:
This talk reports on the joint work with C. Carstensen (HUB) and A. Orlando (HUB) on error-adaptivity for elastoplastic models with hardening. For the primal formulation of plasticity which is described by uniformly convex and nondifferentiable energy functional, it is proven that using a bulk criterion combined with a new edge-based residual error estimate the energy reduction and R-linear convergence for the stresses hold among others properties. Numerical examples in 2D validate theoretical findings.
