Title of the contribution: A posteriori error estimates for elliptic and parabolic problems

Abstract:
In the talk we are concerned with the problem of a posteriori control of approximate solutions obtained by various methods.
First, we shortly recall some principal results of functional a posteriori estimates for elliptic problems. However, the main goal of the lecture is to present functional a posteriori estimates for parabolic problems. We discuss their properties and present results of numerical experiments that confirm their efficiency.
