Libraries in the countries of rigidity are currently still very often mainly consisting of papers and a few books. Recently some independent and incompatible pieces of software have been added to the libraries catalogs. The purpose of this gathering is to get to know existing implementations of algorithms from rigidity theory. Furthermore, we want to challenge the participants to join the efforts of coding and development of software.
One of the aims of the workshop is to start a joined effort on implementing rigidity theory algoritms in a unified way. Namely, to have a sofware package that would gather the knowledge of rigidity theory and could be used by the whole community for research purposes. At the beginning, the summary of the survey that was conducted on the topic will be presented. Hopefully, this will lead to a decision on the programming language and the name of the package. Afterwards, participants will be asked to collect algorithms and concepts that the package could contain together with corresponding references and (non)examples on which the software could be tested. Those who are willing to contribute to the development of the software shall discuss also the technical aspects. An ideal outcome of the discussions would be a team of developers together with a group of researchers who can give scientific support, an agreement on the technical aspects of the developement, and a structure of the package with a list of desired functionality.
