The piezoelectric effect that couples the electrical and the mechanical behaviour of certain materials has a wide and still increasing range of applications from ultrasound generation in medical imaging to injection valves in automotive industry.

It was the aim of this workshop to bring together people doing research on piezoelectric devices both from the mathematics and from the engineering side.

The talks treated several aspects within the numerical simulation of piezoelectric transducers. A further main emphasis has been put on the important application of piezoelectric materials in control. Moreover, the topic of material parameter identifiction has been discussed.
