Groebner Bases in Symbolic Analysis Special Semester on Groebner Bases and Related Methods Hagenberg - Linz, Austria, May 8-17, 2006 Please note that there will be other proceedings volumes, serving the scope of the other workshops / sessions of the Special Semester, in particular: * The D2.1 Session of our workshop: Difference Equations and Combinatorial Identities. * The D2.3 Session of our workshop: Noncommutative Groebner Bases * The subsequent (related) workshop D3: Control Theory and Signal Processing Since there were some questions relating to this issue, let me clarify this point here: You can choose any of these platforms for your publications as long as they are in scope (and if you choose to submit to more than one they must be substantially different from each other). Up to now, we have received 19 replies to our first Call of Papers, 16 of them positive. Please note that the present email is a collective communication intended to convey to you some general information. In the next days, I will contact every one of you who has (or will have) sent me a reply to the Call for Papers, in order to negotiate more details of the topics. The deadline for submission will be October 31, 2006. Notification of acceptance should then be prior to March 31, 2007 such that we can receive the final version by April 30, 2007. If we keep to this schedule, the volume will appear in print before the end of 2007. The page budget is approximately 20-40 pages for a survey/tutorial and 10-20 pages for an original article, but this can also be negotiated on an individual basis. Please let us know if you have any further questions regarding the proceedings in general and your intended publication in particular. Looking forward to an interesting and successful proceedings volume. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Markus Rosenkranz, Dongming Wang Editors
