October 28-30, 2019
Organizers:
Max Gunzburger (Florida State University),
Marta D'Elia (Sandia National Laboratories)
The workshop will gather experts in diverse areas of modeling (fractional derivatives, general integral operators), mathematics (analysis, numerics), and applications (diffusion, mechanics, image processing) of nonlocal models with a focus on control and optimization. The workshop will begin with short tutorials on fractional and more general nonlocal operators, so that the participants not working on nonlocal equations can familiarize themselves with the topics. Central goals of the workshop are for researchers working with different nonlocal models to 1) exchange ideas concerning approaches for the control and optimization of such models and 2) identify and discuss new research directions.
