SS 3: Computational PDEs

Organizers

Abstract

This special session follows the invited lecture of Rob Stevenson and the mini-symposium MS 1 on adaptive finite element methods with presentations on a posteriori error estimates and adaptive schemes for nonstandard finite element methods. The more specialized applications range from linear and nonlinear eigenvalue problems to contact problems in computational continuum mechanics with one or multiple scales.
