Workshop Abstract
Partial differential equations (PDEs) take a prominent role in image analysis
and processing. They can be obtained as the Euler-Lagrange equations from models
that describe an optimal situation, e.g. energy, in combination with certain
constraints.
On the other hand, PDEs can be designed to create a process that enhances
structures, like edges, or removes noise.
In this workshop the state of the art of PDE approaches is presented and recent
developments are discussed in the specific context of bioimaging.
