Title	Computing p-adic integrals using motivic integration

Abstract	M. Kontsevich introduced a new type of integration in 1995, called motivic integration. This new form of integration has been developed extensively over the past 12 years. In its current form, it gives a unified treatment of integration over p-adic fields. This talk will give a general introduction to motivic integration. Various applications of motivic integration will be discussed, especially to the representation theory and to the problem of computing p-adic integrals in a uniform way as the prime number p is allowed to vary.
